Principle: data economy

This site is a static information site. There are no accounts, no forms, no newsletter, no comments and no payment functions. Fonts are served from the site's own server, and no third party font service is called. Analytics and advertising tools are not used outside the consent-based groups of the cookie panel.

03

Hosting and server logs

The site is served via GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub Inc. (USA). When a page is called, the provider processes connection data such as the IP address, date, time and the file requested in server logs for a short period, out of technical necessity. The basis is the legitimate interest in serving the site securely (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The log data is not used by us for any other purpose. Data processing terms under Art. 28 GDPR apply with GitHub; the transfer to the United States rests on the European Commission's adequacy decision (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) and the standard contractual clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR).

04

Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies for its secure operation, for remembering your preferences, for producing usage statistics and for presenting content matched to interest. Necessary cookies rest on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and § 25 (2) TDDDG; every other cookie rests solely on your express consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG).

The cookies are managed in five groups. Apart from the necessary group, a group becomes active only with your consent; without consent the cookies described there are not set. Necessary: a secure session, continuity between pages, CSRF protection and the record of your cookie preference (grs-cerez-onay, 12 months). Functional: language and display settings and the settings of embedded content (such as CONSENT). Analytics: Google Analytics cookies for visit statistics (_ga, _ga_*, _gid). Performance: records that throttle measurement requests (_gat). Marketing: third-party cookies for interest-based promotion (such as NID). The current inventory of every group sits in the Cookie settings panel at the foot of the page.

On your first visit the notice at the foot of the page asks for your preference. No optional group becomes active without your consent. Your choice sits in your browser's local storage for twelve months and is not sent to the server; via the Cookie settings link at the foot of the page you can change or withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

Third-party cookies are subject to the privacy terms of the provider concerned; with analytics and marketing cookies the provider may process the data under its own policies. Fonts and media files are served from the site's own infrastructure. A link leads to WhatsApp; once it is followed, Meta's own privacy and cookie terms apply.

05

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

Where consent is given to the analytics group, the site produces visit statistics with Google Analytics 4: which pages are viewed, how long a visit lasts, which country and device it comes from. Measurement starts only with consent; without consent the measurement script is not loaded at all (§ 25 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

The service is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland); data may be transferred within the group to the United States on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision and the standard contractual clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR). The IP address is processed in shortened form and user-level data is deleted after 14 months.

You can withdraw your consent at any time through the Cookie settings at the foot of the page; measurement then stops and any cookies set are deleted.

06

Contact by WhatsApp and telephone

Following the WhatsApp link on this site opens the application under the terms of its provider, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. Sending a message happens through the visitor's own action; the name, number and content that reach us are processed only to answer the enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). For anyone who prefers not to use WhatsApp, the telephone and email remain open.

07

Contact by email

Data sent by email is processed to answer the enquiry and kept as long as the matter requires. Statutory retention duties remain unaffected.

08

How long data is kept

Server logs are held by the hosting provider for at most seven days and then deleted. Email and WhatsApp correspondence is kept for as long as the matter requires and, where an engagement has come about, after it ends for the retention periods under commercial and tax law, which are six to ten years under § 147 AO and § 257 HGB. Correspondence that leads to no engagement is deleted within six months at the latest.

09

Consent and withdrawal

Processing based on consent is limited to the groups you have agreed to in the cookie panel; no newsletter is sent and no measurement takes place without consent. Where consent is given separately in the course of correspondence, it may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future; the lawfulness of processing carried out until then is unaffected (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

10

Is giving data required

Visiting the site requires no data at all. On contact, a name, a way to reply and the substance of the request are needed; without them the request cannot be answered. Where a service relationship comes about, providing the papers the authority asks for is required by contract and by law; without them the application cannot be run.

11

Papers received during an engagement

Where an engagement is taken on, the papers the authority asks for are sent to us: identity documents, qualifications, the employment contract, proof of maintenance and address. They are processed solely to run the application in question, and passed on only as far as the application requires, that is to the competent authority and to the translator. The basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR; where the papers contain special categories of personal data such as health data, processing takes place only with explicit consent (Art. 9 (2) (a)).

12

Transfer to a third country

Where the WhatsApp route is used, the service is provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. and data may be transferred within the group to the United States. The transfer rests on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the United States and on the provider's standard contractual clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR). Anyone who does not want this transfer can use the telephone or email; on those routes no data is passed to WhatsApp.

13

Your rights

Under the GDPR there are rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). There is also the right to complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); for North Rhine-Westphalia that is the LDI NRW.

14

Changes
